— Local notes

Probate in Palm Beach County, as we see it.

Palm Beach is a single-county circuit — the 15th Judicial Circuit covers Palm Beach alone, with a dedicated probate division that publishes its own forms and procedures. Probate filings go to the main downtown courthouse on N. Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach. Two branches — South County in Delray Beach and North County in Palm Beach Gardens — accept some filings, but cases are centrally managed.

The caseload here is extraordinarily varied. Snowbird ancillary administration is constant — out-of-state decedents who owned Palm Beach condos or homes is everyday work. Town of Palm Beach ultra-high-net-worth estates frequently involve trusts, art, philanthropy, and Florida-homestead-vs-domicile disputes. Wellington equestrian estates add unusual asset classes — horses, easements, equestrian leases — to inventories. And Boca, Boynton, and Delray drive a steady flow of standard residential probate.

Three clerk filing locations and a high case volume make Palm Beach probate one of the more procedurally formal venues in Florida. We file remotely; e-filing through myflcourtaccess.com is the standard path.
